Running fuel into the cockpit to feed a pressure gauge puts a live fuel line next to the driver, and that is a risk no lap time justifies. An isolator keeps the fuel on the engine side of the firewall. Mounted to the engine side firewall, it is plumbed with the pressure source on the inlet and an antifreeze and water mix on the outlet, so the gauge reads pressure without fuel ever crossing the panel.
