This Centerforce billet steel flywheel solves a variety of problems associated with LS swaps utilizing earlier (non-LS) transmissions. 400 Inch shallower than earlier generation Chevy small blocks.
This presents a problem for those wanting to use a later LS engine with a manual transmission that was originally attached to a non-LS application, such as a Muncie 4-speed. This different crank offset causes internal bellhousing geometry problems with throwout bearing travel and clutch engagement when attempting to use an off-the-shelf LS flywheel with an earlier transmission.
400 Inch of thickness, compensating for the LS crank offset and placing the flywheel face and clutch assembly in the proper position to work with earlier transmissions. Centerforce steel flywheels are manufactured from high quality billet steel and match closely to the original equipment flywheel weight.
